Indian Head Massage. pampered

Indian Head Massage was mentioned over 4000 years ago in early Ayurvedic texts, and has been practised in India for over 1000 years, continuing to be popular today.
Indian Head Massage was initially enjoyed by women who used natural oils to massage into their scalp, and the scalps of their children. It was believed this kept the hair healthy and strong. Not to be outdone men's barbers also practised the skills and would offer a scalp massage as part of their service.

Massaging the scalp stimulates blood flow to the hair follicles and improves the supply of nutrients for healthy hair growth. The most common cause of poor blood flow in this area is stress generated muscle tension.

Over the years Indian Head Massage has evolved. In the west today Indian Head Massage is used as a healing therapy, and CAN be as beneficial as a full body massage. It can provide deep relief for those who store tension in their neck, shoulders, head and face.
Indian Head Massage involves working with a firm but gentle rhythm to help unknot these tense muscles and free energy blockages, encouraging the flow of blood, re-energising every part of the body, relieving discomfort. The head neck and shoulders are important energy centres within the body and when under stress the body tenses knotting the surrounding muscle, blocking energy pathways resulting in a variety of symptoms including:
Painful / stiff neck and shoulders
Back ache
eye strain
Hair loss
Low energy levels / exhaustion
Lack of concentration
Insomnia, and much more.....

The effect of Indian Head Massage is not only physical, but also works on an emotional and energetic level - helping calm the spirit and ease the mind.
Indian Head Massage has a profound effect on all systems of the body. It supports the nervous system by relieving stress, it stimulates the lymphatic system encouraging the elimination of toxins from the body.
As well as being relaxing it can also be stimulating, helping increase the blood supply, bringing more oxygen to the tissues, promoting higher levels of concentration and clearer thinking.
The flow of energy around the body has an effect on an individuals well being.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE? - you can remain fully clothed. The massage is carried out on a chair. Starting on the head you will be asked whether the pressure is comfortable (this will be tailored to your requirements). The head will be massaged moving down on to the neck, shoulders, upper back, arms and hands before moving on to the face.
I do not use oils in the hair or on the body unless specifically requested at time of booking. The massage takes around 1 hour from start to finish.

Indian head massage is very safe, very simple and very effective!
